Inflammation of the liver secondary to anorexia and vomiting. Possible Inflammatory Bowel Disease or intestinal lymphoma. Biopsy results will confirm.

Procedures performed on August 26, 2008

Endoscopy and biopsy of stomach and duodenum

As of August 21, 2008:

Vomiting and weight loss may be secondary to Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome, neoplasia, or liver disease. A biopsy may be required to determine a more definitive diagnosis.

Those words are forever burned into my retina.

Procedures done on August 21:

Abdominal ultrasound – revealed inflammation and several masses on the liver, inflammation of the gall bladder, and enlarged lymph nodes on the stomach

Needle aspirate of liver – tissue samples sent for analysis, results pending Monday, August 25
